Come to UKZN and become a Marine Biologist
Register now for a BSc (Marine Biology) in the School of Biological and Conservation Sciences at UKZN. This Programme will be offered for the first time in 2009, so if you register soon and work hard, in 2011 you could be amongst the first South African students to be awarded a BSc in Marine Biology.

Immediately after the three year BSc degree there is the option of BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology. |

The course will comprise four specialized modules and a substantial research project. Modules will be selected by candidates in consultation with the course coordinators on the basis of their previous qualifications/experience. Elective modules include: Coastal Ecology, Marine Biodiversity, Ecotoxicology, Fisheries Science, Coastal and Marine Geology, Pollution Studies, Coastal Zone Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Ocean and Coastal Law and Principles of Environmental Economics. The degree can be completed in one (full-time) or two (part-time) years. |
